Too Soon…
Rest in peace to DJ Witts aka David M. D’Agostino. Although I didn’t know him personally, I knew of him because he was one of hip-hop’s’s few blind DJ’s. After hearing of him, I was struck by the amount of dedication and passion for DJ’g he had to have, given his circumstances. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
No One Ever Really Dies
N*E*R*D* is now a verb meaning “to totally kill a live show to the point of insanity”. I can now say, with no hesitation, that Chad, Shay and Pharrell have the best live show I’ve seen in all my years. Hands (all the way) down. Not The Incredible Roots Band, not Van Hunt (my previous #1), not Kanye. They absolutely murked Indianapolis Monday night. Murkage of EPIC proportions actually… The good folks at The Star seem to agree with me.
I didn’t get to interview Skateboard P and the fellas like I had hoped to due to sound check time issues (thank you anyway Mike!), but the interview with Chester French went quite well (be on the look out for those guys). If N*E*R*D*’s new LP has 1/3 of the energy they showed Monday, I’ll buy three copies for everyone I know. I need that “little teacup ” song in my life real seriously right now btw… Not to mention, the after-bashment at the Casba was quite daft as well… AND Scotty’s St. Patty’s Notre Dame cap was SO necessary! Plenty of pics after the jump. Fly or die…
Wheeeeewwww!!!… (pic respectfully jacked from Indy.com
Crew deep… Indiana Jones, Chad Hugo of N*E*R*D*, me, Scotty! Please peep dude’s Lou Hotlz era ND cap! Please.
Yezzurrr! I see you Action! (He killed it on the decks… Shouts to Action Jackson for coming down from B-town!)
I swear… highlight of my night! Juking with Chad Hugo to my dude’s song – THIS NAPTOWN! No lie, I put Serato internal mode and started dancing!
Carol!!!
